JW Marriott Hill Country Resort sold for $800M

​​​SAN ANTONIO – Ryman Hospitality Properties Inc. (RHP) has purchased the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa from Blackstone Real Estate Trust Inc. for $800 million.

RHP, a lodging and hospitality real estate investment trust, specializes in upscale convention center resorts and entertainment spaces. 

The JW Marriott, spread across roughly 640 acres, has 1,002 rooms and 268,000 sf of indoor and outdoor event space. It’s also home to TPC San Antonio, which features two 18-hole golf courses.

Blackstone Real Estate Trust Inc. expects to bring in over $270 million in profit over a five-year period from the transaction.  

The San Antonio resort will continue to operate under the JW Marriott brand. ​
