SAN ANTONIO – Local utility companies are warning homebuilders to pace projects due to transformer shortages.
According to an article from Builder Online, the pandemic and supply chain issues have impacted transformer manufacturers. This ultimately hinders new installations of electricity by utility companies.
These issues may force homebuilders to reconsider transformer options or even delay hooking power up to homes.
One transformer is needed for every four homes. They transform high voltage in power lines to the low voltage used in homes.
