WASHINGTON – Texas is the fifth-best state to drive in, says a WalletHub study.
The Lone Star State ranks first in cost of ownership and maintenance, fourth in access to vehicles and maintenance, 14th in safety, and 41st in traffic and infrastructure.
Texas is tied for first with California and Florida for most car washes per capita. It is also second in lowest average gas prices and fifth in fewest days with precipitation.
The rest of the top five driving states are Iowa, Oklahoma, Kansas, and North Carolina.
Last year, Texas ranked first on WalletHub’s list. Texas was also the second-best state for summer road trips.
