TEXARKANA – Work starts later this month on improvements to the post office and courthouse at 500 N. State Line Ave., the only federal building to straddle two states.
The Courthouse Square Connections Project is a dual-city effort led by the Texarkana Arts & Historic District.
Improvements will include expanding sidewalks, adding crosswalks, closing the 5th St. entrance, and reclaiming a portion of the historic area’s original brick streets.
The plan also includes a new tourist kiosk, public art, expanded green space, and an area for food truck vendors.
Completion is set for March 2021.
