BRYAN – Wallace Phillips has donated the Phillips Event Center to the city.
The seven-acre tract at 1929 Country Club Dr. is along Briarcrest Dr. near SH 6. It includes a 26,500-sf clubhouse, which has a 2,200-sf porch area, 6,620-sf wrap-around balcony, and carport.
Amenities include six tennis courts, a 4,000-sf swimming pool, 4,200-sf auxiliary building, and 3,200-sf maintenance barn.
The city council also approved the purchase of three tracts of land adjacent to the driving range at the City Course at Phillips Event Center.
