OEI falls for third straight month

ODESSA – The Odessa Economic Index (OEI) fell for the third straight month in January, decreasing 0.5 percent year over year to 266.6.

This is the sixth time in the past seven months that the OEI fell after it peaked last June.

A slowdown in the regional oil and gas economy resulted in the contraction in the metro’s economy.

COVID-19 will exacerbate the metro’s economy and its impact will be reflected in April numbers.
