MATAGORDA COUNTY – Germany-based Roehm GmbH is planning a $350 million world-scale methyl methacrylate plant near Bay City.
The plant, which will employ 70, will draw from the broad supply of ethylene and natural gas on the Gulf Coast.
Roehm is asking the Bay City Independent School District to limit the taxable value of the asset to $30 million.
Construction will start in fourth quarter 2021, with commercial operations beginning by the end of 2023.
